Lockheed Martin CYBERQUEST® Academy
Mentoring Program Classroom Registration
CYBERQUEST® Academy Mentoring Program Overview
Lockheed Martin invites high school classrooms to join our free, volunteer-led virtual mentoring program designed to help students build cyber-security skills and prepare for the annual CYBERQUEST® competition.
Accepted classrooms are matched with two Lockheed Martin employee volunteers:
- A Liaison - your main point of contact to coordinate logistics and ensure a smooth experience
- A Mentor - your technical guide who leads sessions, supports learning, and shares insights from their STEM career journey
Each class receives four one-hour-long sessions, scheduled between October 2025 and February 2026 based on mutual availability with the teacher. Sessions are held via the school's preferred virtual platform.
To maximize the benefit of mentoring, we prioritize support for classes that already have foundational cybersecurity knowledge (see the registration form below for details). These students are most likely to participate in CYBERQUEST® and gain the most from the mentoring sessions. However, all high school classes are welcome to register, and we'll do our best to accomodate as many as possible.
We hope your students will also go on to compete in CYBERQUEST®! Students who participate in the competition may also be eligible to apply for Lockheed Martin internships or apprenticeships. Note that participation in the mentoring program alone does not qualify students for internships or apprenticeships. Additionally, CYBERQUEST® uses a separate registration system, and participation in CYBERQUEST® Academy mentoring does not automatically register teams for the competition.
Participation Requirements
- Who can register: A teacher or any adult age 18 or older who is affiliated with the school or a STEM-focused club, including parents, may register a classroom. The registered adult must be present during all mentoring sessions.
- Student eligibility: All students who participate in the mentoring program must be in high school; grades 9-12 and age 13 or older.
- Class limit: Each teacher may register up to three classes. We'll do our best to support additional classes when possible, but volunteer capacity is very limited and most mentors are only able to support one class.
- Technology needs: Sessions are held virtually using your school's preferred online meeting platform (e.g. Google Meet, Zoom, etc.) or Microsoft Teams. Students will need access to a development environment to write and test code, and the ability to access the CYBERQUEST® Academy website using a web browser, but no special software is required for either the website or mentoring program.
- Session committment: If selected, you agree to participate in four virtual sessions per class prior to the CYBERQUEST®competition (date to be announced).
